Welcome to my home page. From 1993 until 1995 I was a research assistant and master's student at the MIT Media Lab in what was the Advanced Human Interface Group. Presently, I work at Akamai Technologies.

Research

While a master's student I worked on multi-modal interfaces. Projects included an interactive video documentary whose narative followed the viewer's gaze; a motion capture sensor suit that enabled the wearer to direct the movements of a 3D virtual character with hand gestures, gaze and speech (see image above).

Currently, I work on distributed networking systems, to improve their management, performance and profitability.

I enjoy rowing, running, sailing and hiking. I completed the 2006 & 2010 Boston Marathons. See my old training log.
