David Chiou is the Founder and CEO of Groundhog Technologies, the leading provider of Mobility Intelligence and the first company in the industry to offer a product that can provide indoor geolocation for cellular networks using mathematical models of subscribers' mobility and usage behavior. David holds a Master's Degree from the MIT Media Laboratory, where he was elected as a Merrill Lynch Fellow and conducted research in spatial-temporal mathematical modeling that led to the founding of his company. He has been granted 17 patents and has additional patents pending. Prior to attending MIT, David worked as a Consultant at AT&T Labs-Research. He served on the Advisory Board of Skysoft, which developed and offered KKBOX, Asia's top music streaming service provider with the largest Asian music library, until KKBOX's acquisition by KDDI in 2010. David received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, where he was honored as an Outstanding College Youth of Taiwan and received several national awards.
David was voted as one of the eight most respected entrepreneurial role models by young entrepreneurs in Taiwan according to a survey by the Epoch Foundation in 2003. He was elected as a top 100 MVP Managers in Taiwan in 2017, and received various awards from different President, Vice President, and Prime Minister of Taiwan in the past decades. He has participated in and moderated various summits, including the Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit, the Europe-Asia Young Leaders' Forum, the 2003 Asia Pacific Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, and the WYPS of the United Nations. |
