SmartAvatars is a project that merges two different concepts: augmented reality and internet of things. Using a mobile device and augmented reality we can display an avatar. That avatar can get information from the objects or modify their status.

The user touches the object on the screen, and then the avatar appears and interacts with it (in this our video, the avatar turns on the light).

Regarding the technical side, the light has a microcontroller that allows us to change the object status or obtain information from the object. This microcontroller is connected to a master device which is connected to the Internet and manages the data transition. When the user performs an action on the mobile device the data is sent to the internet to the master device. Then, the master device sends the order to the corresponding object.
