Description:

NecklaceEye is a wearable device for visually impaired people. NecklaceEye has a camera that takes a picture of the user's field of view, and uses crowdsourcing to recognize object and environments. The device uses a buzzer to provide a tactile feedback to the users through non-audible frequencies. The user is trained in order to detect different frequencies and understand the meaning.

Another application uses the camera for navigation. The device is taking pictures automatically of the user's field of view. Then, it uses image recognition on the FPGA in order to detect wall or objects, so the user can turn right or left.
