bysickle
bysickle is my bicycle.
i did not fabricate it or weld it or anything crazy fancy like that. but i
did construct it with much help from my friend jeff
weber. it started as a crusty rusty univega 10-speed that i bought for
$30 at the mit police auction (unfortunately i don’t have any before pictures).
i stripped the frame of all of the components, cut off the guides for the
brake cables, and sanded the frame and fork in the sandblaster at the media
lab, where i also primed, sealed, and painted it. i made the decals using
the lasercutter to make stencils out of masking tape. then i reassembled it
to my every aesthetic specification (using the ai lab shop) as a single speed
[with a flip flop hub so it also rides fixed gear].
