| Puff
the Magic LEGO Dragon was created when I was a research scientist in
the Wizard Group at LEGO Digital. The dragon was modeled after the company's
small plastic dragon, with the same degrees of freedom. The dragon's
body inhabited a virtual world running on an SGI Reality Monster and
its mind ran on two SGI workstations and a Wintel box. The dragon never
became really smart, but it rivaled the brains of Gandalf
the Communicative Humanoid, who could guide people around in a virtual
solar system and travel with them to the planets. Puff and Gandalf ran
on a mind architecture called Ymir. |
