Born in New York City, I learned at an early age how to instill purpose into my aimless wanderings -- and I'm still at it. My academic meanderings began with the University of Michigan where I developed a simulation tool for the Soar general intelligence architecture and founded a student organization called University Students Against Cancer (USAC). In the summer of '91, I worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha. After earning a BSE in Computer Engineering in '92, Motorola recruited me as a Software Engineer and I moved to Phoenix. One of the exciting projects I worked on while there was an expert system and natural language processing tool for patent applications. I also managed to complete half of an MS in Computer Science at Arizona State University before leaving Motorola and the majestic Southwest in the fall of '96. I'm now continuing my academic journey at MIT's Media Lab in Cambridge. |
