Orizuru Japanese Restaurant

Located in the Sixth Avenue Centre, this little Japanese Restaurant offers very economical buffet dinners on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Their dishses include the various sushis like Nigiri, California roll, salmon, prawn and egg. They have four kinds of Tempuras : prawn, fish, sweet potato and egg-plant. Yakitori (chicken), beef Trriyaki, pork roll, fried noodles and salad. Desserts are fruit cocktail, custard pudding and red bean paste cakes.

Of course, they also have the usual bean paste soup.

During the week, they have the Shabu Shabu Buffet Dinner. This is a meal where you actually dip sliced beef, pork, chicken, various vegetables and noodles into a bow of boiling soup. Something like the Chinese steam-boat except the spices used are different.

The place is quite small and reservations are encouraged in order to secure a table. You could also walk in at just before 6pm to try your luck.

We had a reservation at 6pm one day and got there at about 5:45pm. Guess what ? No one was there and it was like the whole restaurant was ours and we had the freshest food. When we were about to leave, many people rushed in and it became crowded.
