Garam is a Malay word which means "to be irresistible." The dish Garam Assam is known for its ability to stimulate one's appetite with its tangy sourish flavour.

Instructions to cook

  1. Over high flame, fry pounded ingredients in oil for 2 minutes
  2. Add in a little tamarind juice and stir fry for another minute
  3. Over high flame, add in the remaning tamarind juice, sugar and salt
  4. Bring to boil and add meat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes

The above menu is served with steamed rice.
