I am now a research scientist at PatientsLikeMe building online communities for patients to share data: symptoms, treatments, health outcomes, and generally knowledge. I am particularly interested in the social and informational use of personal health information and the data visualization of that information expecially as it helps people become more involved in their own healthcare. We have begun to explore how our members use data within the site in a paper on the Social Uses of Data. In addition, I still do research on mediated communication and online dating.
